This Cookie Policy explains how BoltHire uses cookies and similar technologies on the BoltHire website and dashboard. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
Questions: [email protected].
1. What we use
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the Service:
- Authentication cookies (Auth.js / NextAuth session tokens) — strictly necessary to keep you signed in.
- CSRF cookie (bolthire_csrf) — strictly necessary for form security.
- Short-lived bolthire_pending_quiz cookie — necessary to carry quiz answers across Google OAuth.
- Browser localStorage keys (for example bolthire_quiz_answers, bolthire_quiz_step, bolthire_match_count, bolthire_cover_letters) — used in the pre-signup funnel to preserve progress.
- Crisp chat cookies or similar third-party storage when the support widget loads for entitled dashboard users.
2. Why we use them
These technologies let you stay signed in, protect forms from cross-site request forgery, remember onboarding answers before you create an account, and (for entitled users) load in-app support chat.
We do not use advertising cookies or cross-context behavioral advertising pixels.
3. Consent
Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent under most cookie laws because the Service cannot function without them.
Crisp is loaded for support in the product experience after you have an entitled account. If you prefer not to use chat, email us at [email protected] instead.
4. How to control cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent sign-in, checkout, or other core features from working.
You can clear localStorage in your browser; that will discard unsaved onboarding progress on that device.
